West Indian Roti Shop 6/5/2008 It's not the effect, it's the name given to the roti itself -- specifically, one that's been thwacked between the roti maker's hands until it resembles a busted-up shirt. The spelling used by most of these eateries, which reflects the pronunciation, is "buss-up shot."
