Although it is sandwiched between West Hampstead and Primrose Hill, this is simply not a great spot unless you’re seeking bargains in the local pound shop. Finchley Road has a range of mediocre restaurants. Swiss Cottage has a good library and sports centre. The Camden Arts Centre and Freud Museum are jewels in this battered crown—it’s worth braving the traffic to see them.
