Pity poor Wandsworth Central. Not only is it lumbered with an ugly shopping centre but a four lane gyratory system brings constant traffic and pollution. On the plus side, plenty of chain stores (GAP, Uniqlo etc) and a multi-screen cinema make life a little easier. Old York Road offers a pleasant escape from the madness—try the retro Brady’s for great fish and chips.
