Ramen Nippon
Finding good ramen in Los Angeles outside of Downtown is sort of like finding $50 in your back pocket. Finding a good non-franchise restaurant in the Valley on the other hand, is like finding pirate treasure in your backyard. Combine the two and you have what it feels like to stumble into Nippon Ramen--every visit induces a mild to moderate sense of euphoria. The restaurant is located in a tiny little strip mall, nestled between a French/Armenian bakery and what could be a dentist's office. Everything on the menu is less than ten bucks, and the portions are so big that you'll probably want to share. If you ever wondered if there were still Japanese people in Los Angeles, you'll probably run into all twelve of them here.
