Named as such, for the, ahem, lake view, this 'hood borders Lake Pontchartrain. Once mostly moderately wealthy folks, Katrina nearly wiped this area off the map. Vacant lots still abound but the hum of construction work signals a return for this neighborhood that was once a white collar recreational haven of pleasant parks and yacht clubs.
