Musée du quai Branly
This is the one in a series. We would like to direct the NFT reader to
great, picturesque, and little-known sites located just a stone's throw
away from Paris' major attractions.
Paris' third most popular landmark is the Eiffel tower. Urban planning
in that "recent" neighbourhood is more rational and predictable. Yet do
not miss the wild garden of Paris' newest museum, "Musée du quai
Branly", or its unique vertical garden, by Patrick Blanc.
Simply walk right as you face the river with the Tower in your back.
First will be the wall garden, then the museum, then the wild garden and
its cafeteria with the view on... the Eiffel tower of course.

Le Sketch Cafe Restaurant
Where to take a hot date in the 7th arrondisement? Really anything around here will do, but if you're under 30, one option could be this sleek intimate restaurant (formerly L'Arcade Café) with an updated art nouveau decor. Rose-tinted lampshades, wall-to wall mirrors, comfy (but not too comfy) banquettes, and unpretentious service make for an impressive but convivial atmosphere. Outdoor tables; hidden behind brushes, in earshot of the famous fontaine de Mars, make for a sexy atmosphere no matter where you choose to sit. However, slightly out of synch with the hot-date vibe, we have a menu that's simple, perhaps a bit too simple. Salads (Roquefort and apple slice; parmesan and walnut respectively) were fresh; but unoriginal. The entrees (Rognons in a creamy Dijon sauce; Mackerel smothered in butter) were well-proportioned, but it seems like everything in the kitchen comes out with the same side-dish; potatoes either steamed or fried. Though it tastes great, we call this predictable, fatty cooking 'homestyle.' Granted, it leaves little margin for error, but what's a sexy date without the risquee?
