Real estate prices are truly insane when few can afford homes in this predominately low- to middle- income area (except the beaucoup bucks waterfront homeowners). Kubota Gardens and the Rainier Beach Library are lovely and the public boat launch is handy, but the crime rate here will make insurance costlier than your car. Rainier Beach High School is filled with talent, strife, multiple ethnicities, and awards. RBHS alums include NBA star Jamal Crawford, who donated “Crawford Court” in 2005.
