Comment: Sabores is a funny little restaurant for several reasons. To start, the place occupies a odd space just off Connecticut Avenue. What looks like the outside terrace is really the entire restaurant, contained what seems like a small glass box. Not that it's a bad thing - - in the summer, the walls are rolled up! and everyone gets to eat al fresco! In the winter, they roll back down and the space is heated (though the glass walls give you the deception of outdoor dining). The menu is an eclectic mix of cuisine from various Spanish speaking countries...from both sides of the Atlantic. Influences run the gamut - - from Mexico to Latin American to South America to Spain - - food is served as entrees or as tapas. Despite its oddity, it all seems to work. Food is delicious and interesting, and overall not too pricey. Standouts include the croquettes and the Argentinian steak with chorizo sausage. Be sure to try the sangria also before you leave.
