If you happen to be in or around the North End between five and eight o’clock on a Friday evening, stop by The Wine Bottega for a free tasting. Each week there is a different theme; whether it’s Tuscan, good-for-barbeque, or sparkling wines, the oftenobscure selection, the little cavernous basement room where it is held, and the knowledgeable staff will delight. Tasting nights also feature a 10% discount when you buy one bottle and a 20% discount on three or more bottles. If you miss the tasting, swing by anyway—it will likely be the most thoughtfully stocked and passionately staffed wine store you have ever entered.
