There’s a waitress at Kisso in Old City who takes the phrase “service with a smile” to a whole new level. She is literally smiling at you from the moment she takes your alcohol of choice to be chilled, to when you push your chair in to leave. And it isn’t one of those fake give-me-a-big-tip-you-tool smiles—it’s genuine. All facial expressions aside, Kisso is good sushi at a decent price. The rolls may seem on the small side to some, but honestly, no one wants to see you shoving some giant piece of California Roll into your mouth and watching rice bits drop off anyway. It’s a small space, but you can usually slide in without a reservation even on a Saturday night. Don’t forget to bring your own booze.
