Mama's Vegetarian
One thing right off the bat: I’m not a vegetarian, not even close, not by a long shot, no way, not ever, no. However, much like Bill O’Reilly and Parker Posey (in Party Girl) before me, I appreciate a well-made falafel. And here at Mama’s, every falafel is a wellmade falafel. The pita bread’s fresh-baked, and the sandwich comes packed with tahini, crispy balls of fried chick-pea, tomatoes, lettuce, and even hot sauce for a little extra kick. Not only that, but some of my buddies have taken to calling this place “Sexy Falafel” on account of the tall-dark-n-handsome Middle- Eastern cooks and their penchant for playing club music inside the restaurant. The draw here really is the outstanding falafel, but Mama’s also sells salads, pickled veggies, and the tasty pita bread by the dozen and half-dozen.
