Little Thai Market in Reading Terminal
I’m living my childhood dream of living less than one hundred yards away from Reading Terminal Market. But, just as childhood has a way of making small rooms look like ballrooms, Reading simply isn’t as marvelous as it all looked through the greatness-magnifying lenses of my little bug-eyes. While it’s still one of my favorite places in reality, the reality is, a lot of the food—and some of the service—isn’t so hot. The Dutch stuff flakes in the mouth and Metropolitan’s “artisinal” bread is too hard. The people over at 12th Street Cantina are so mean that I employ the buddy system just to go over there and buy some cake slices. And possibly saddest of all, the new Jewish dehli, Hershel’s, serves clumsy (and by that, I mean fatty as a scoop of buttocks) reubens. All this said, Little Thai Market is AMAZING. You must, must pay them a visit. For under six dollars, you can get a packed plate of rice, an enormous slab of perfect salmon, peppers, broccoli, and delicious sauce—the best deal, and, the best meal in all of Reading.
