If you're any kind of bike nut in Philadelphia—fixie, single-speed, racer, whatever—you need to ride that two-wheeler (unless, of course, it's a unicycle) over to Trophy Bikes. Open every day, this spiffy little shop is full of bikes and bike gadgets galore, and a staff that's all too happy to answer any question you might have. The best evidence of their enthusiasm, though, doesn't come from their work in the shop. Keep your eyes open and you'll see these guys—and one gal, at last count—zooming all over the city, usually perfectly happy to stop and say hi. Co-owner Michael McGettigan may or may not even have been spotted on West River Drive last year, trying in vain to scoot under a "road closed" gate without dismounting his folding bike, much to the observer's amusement. And speaking of folders: Trophy is the best place in town to find them, if you're the sort who likes to be able to pick up your wheels in a tight little package and carry them in to the office after your commute, instead of leaving them outside. (Don't you wish you could do that with your car?)
