Molly's Café & Bookstore
There is nothing like finding a new hole-in-the-wall book store. When I stumbled upon Molly’s Books in the midst of the bustling Italian Market, I got a warm, fuzzy feeling in the pit of my stomach. I’m probably not the only one who’s had that feeling. After all, Molly’s has been here for over seven years. It is that place you feel like no one else knows about, even though they probably do. But whether you’ve never been there or visit frequently, it will always be a great find. Littered with sleeping cats, this small and scattered store sells both new and used books, giving readers a myriad of choices. If owner Molly Russakoff isn’t yelling at her rambunctious children, she is probably suggesting new authors and titles to her customers (she told me to read John Fante based on my love for Bukowski). Eventually she hopes to begin teaching on-site classes and hosting events, so get excited. And if you don’t read, you can always pet a cat.
