City Hall
Election Day is coming up on November 6, and this is my friendly reminder to get out and vote. I know this isn’t a big election, and we all know that Nutter is going to be the next mayor of Philadelphia. I mean, in a recent poll, 74% of registered voters said they were going to vote for Nutter, while just 8% said they were voting for Taubenberger. If you’re a visual thinker, that’s like if all the water in your body was going to vote for Nutter, and your hair planned to vote for Taubenberger. Anyway, mayor isn’t the only position up for grabs in this election. There are a number of judge positions, city council seats, and other jobs to be voted on, as well as a few ballot questions. I’m not really a good source of information on who’s running for any of these offices, but the Committee of Seventy is. Go to their website and look up some information. Mostly I’m writing this because when I’m in the voting booth, I always feel like a jackass for not having researched candidates for the lesser offices. Hopefully this reminder saves you from similar jackassery.
