New Samosa
Ok, I’ll just get to the point. The New Samosa does not have amazing food. I’m an overzealous naan fan, and here it’s usually a bit of a jaw-breaker. But here’s what it does have, since I tend to end up there at least once a week: All-vegetarian dishes, with a buffet of korma and saag paneer to other seasonal curries (a very sweet pumpkin dish has been a staple recently). It has fried breads and traditional south Indian desserts and delicious soups I’ve never seen before. It has a $4.99 lunch take-out option which is unparalleled by any other Indian fare in Philadelphia. Hopefully that answers any questions about why I give this place the nod, and all hail the death of the old Samosa to make way for the new.
