Outer Richmond (East) / Seacliff
Seacliff is old money, and that money buys you a mansion with a bridge view. Lincoln Park also has beautiful views (and they’re free). Walk from the park’s public golf course down to the Lands End Coastal Trail for a dramatic stroll complete with stunning scenery, or find hidden China Beach.

No one puts Dan Bollwinkel's golf game in a corner. A self-described anti-golfer, Dan has come to show you that golfing doesn't have to be high-class, tidy or bereft of beer swilling. So, come! Golf with the workingmen, swing with the athletically eccentric. Golf by the projects, downhill, with festive company and a liquor license. Here, you ain't nobody's caddy.

Pizzetta 211
Out in the Ave.'s Richmond side, on a sleepy swath near Sea Cliff, we come to an unassuming, quiet neighborhood street. We see a restaurant. It’s tiny and warm with only a couple of tables. The kitchen takes up much of the space, with organic ingredients on the counter. We sit outside at one of two small tables and sip wine as a crowd gathers around hungrily. The busy staff accommodates more guests with a makeshift table around a tree. Our pizza arrives shortly after, looking very much like a vera pizza napolitana; flat, crisp, frugal in topping, and burned in places. On one, an arrabiata sauce and eggplant and on the other, sorrel pesto, early girl tomatoes and two Rosie's farm eggs--dropped on top before going into the oven so they come out over easy. I tear off a piece of crust and greedily dip into the runny yolk. And for dessert, vin santo and biscotti.

When visitors come to town and ask me for a dinner recommendation, without hesitation I steer them toward Pacific Café. With a menu based on what’s in season, this unpretentious reasonably priced eatery has some of the best seafood in town, generous portions, and fantastic customer service. For 32 years it has sported a loyal and local following along with a dedicated staff. My server on a recent visit to Pacific Café had been there for an astonishing 31 years! They have a regular menu; however, my recommendation is to go right for the specials on the board for your appetizer, entrée, and desert. Pacific Café does not take reservations, but luckily the wait (which can be substantial) is made more palatable by complimentary glasses of wine. Parking is usually available on the street within a block or two of the restaurant.
