505 Flower
Thursday, July 27, 2006
Like it or not, downtown Los Angeles is becoming an actual destination. No longer is it simply a place to work, but it is transforming into a place to live, a place to eat, and a place to shop. From the brand new multi-billion hotel/shopping/eating complex across from Staples Center to the new condos growing like weeds, downtown will soon no longer be the ghost town it has been for so long. 505 Flower is a renovation of the former underground shopping area beneath Arco Plaza. It now boasts newer and more updated shops, signs, and seating arrangements out of a colorful sixties film. There is everything from fresh fruit and boa tea vendors, to fast food like McDonald’s and Johnnies Pizza, to heath and fitness establishments like GNC and 24 Hour Fitness. Before you know it all of downtown is going to be just as up to date and hip.
