Amici Miei Ristorante
Friday, December 01, 2006
Potomac now officially has everything you could reasonably expect out of a suburb. The public schools are some of the best in the country. The developments and the houses on those developments are generally spaced far apart. Nature is allowed to flourish amongst the people from the Potomac River through Cabin John Creek because suburban sprawl has not gone unchecked. But Potomac had always been missing a truly gourmet Italian restaurant. Finally, Amici Miei has filled that void. Hidden in Potomac Woods Mall in the space that used to house the much loved Theo’s Greek Restaurant, Amici Miei had big shoes to fill. But they’ve gone well beyond all expectations. Their pizzas rival any that could be found in the whole DC area, their ravioli taste of the old country, and their salmon is as good as or better than any piece of fish at a fancy restaurant downtown frequented by lobbyists and politicians. Roberto, who worked at the boisterous Al Tiramasu on P Street, is a gracious and witty host who keeps the atmosphere light and fun. There seem to be less and less reasons to leave the idyllic suburb of Potomac.
